Max Jungmann is an expert in sustainability transformation and currently serves as Executive Manager of the Heidelberg Center for the Environment (HCE) at Heidelberg University, where he coordinates interdisciplinary research and strategic collaborations at the intersection of science, policy, and society. He is also the Founder and CEO of Momentum Novum, an international consultancy supporting public and private sector clients in implementing innovative and sustainable solutions, and of FALK Momentum, a joint venture between the financial auditing and tax consultancy FALK and Momentum Novum.
Max holds a PhD in Political Science on Climate Change and Health, with his research focusing on the international governance of health adaptation. He has published on climate governance, sustainable development, and international security, and has been involved in several international research collaborations related to sustainability and climate resilience.
Max regularly advises organizations on sustainable development strategies, climate risk, and science-policy interfaces, and has designed and facilitated numerous workshops and learning formats on topics such as sustainable leadership, climate-smart healthcare, and climate-neutral universities.
Through his work, he advocates for systems thinking, science-based policy, and inclusive approaches to sustainable transformation. He is passionate about leveraging knowledge, innovation, and collaboration to address the interconnected challenges of climate change, public health, and social equity.
