Senani Dayabandara is a scientific coordinator at Heidelberg University with a background in Molecular Biotechnology. Her research focuses on integrating molecular biological techniques, such as virus detection, with enhanced and novel surveillance systems for vector-borne diseases. She is particularly interested in the intersection of public health and Nature-based Solutions, exploring how ecological approaches can support disease prevention and ecosystem resilience.
Within the LILY COST Action, Senani serves as the co-leader of Working Group 4 (WG4) and plays an active role in the communication and dissemination of LILY’s work, as well as in the coordination across the consortium.
